Overview
This webinar will provide an overview and case study on how one unit implemented neuroprotective family-centered developmental care successfully in their NICU in order to minimize the deleterious effects of the intensive care experience on developing infants. For the implementation of neuroprotective developmental care to be successful, all NICU staff must have the knowledge and skills to effectively implement this care and there must be cooperation and collaboration between all health care providers as well as ancillary and support staff.
Philips Healthcare Transformation Education can help you standardize and hardwire your developmental care practices through the Wee Care® Neuroprotective NICU Program. Wee Care is a comprehensive evidence–based change management program that focuses on 7 core measures that are essential to the care of premature neonates and their families. The program provides a comprehensive and interactive learning experience with expert change management, through coaching and consulting support, to assist NICU teams in achieving selected goals and objectives. Content is customized based on the NICU’s pre-assessment, specific goals, policies and procedures, and improvement needs.
A team of Philips education specialists and consultants provide the NICU staff with methods and tools aimed at standardizing developmental care practices and supporting clinical transformation. This results-oriented approach empowers accountability so that desired practice changes are supported and integrated throughout care practices and unit policies and procedures.
